Former NICU Nurse, DONA approved doula trainer, certified Birth & Postpartum doula (DONA)
Has an extensive background in maternity and child healthcare, integrating both medical training and experience as well as a personal commitment to healthy families. She completed a three-year degree in specialized pediatric care at the internationally renowned Inselspital University Hospital in Switzerland and worked on the NICU for 7 years thereafter, which included the training of pediatric nurses and midwife interns.
Her years of conventional medical training feed her desire to step outside the typical medical model and go deeper into more personal care during the birth and postpartum period. She currently works as a birth and postpartum doula, commited to help parents have an easy transition into parenthood and to support them with informed decision-making. She also works at the Chapman Family Center as the postpartum doula registrar and is a DONA International approved postpartum doula trainer. Kathrin lives in Los Angeles with her husband Karma and their two boys.
