If you find the your nipples are sore, having trouble with positioning and latch, you are experiencing a low milk supply or an over – production of supply, you will benefit from a visit with an IBCLC . An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is a health care professional who specializes in the clinical management of breastfeeding. IBCLCs are certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, Inc. (www.iblce.org) under the direction of the U.S. National Commission for Certifying Agencies. Yana Katzap-Nackman has been helping breastfeeding parents since 2004. She received her education through the lactation institute and then UCSD. She Did her clinical hours at Long Beach memorial at the NICU, hospital postpartum dept and outpatient clinic. Yana is currently an IBCLC in private practice and teaches breastfeeding at The Art of Birthing birth center in Marina Del Rey.
